Dominican Summer Heat

So...have you ever asked the question, "HOW do you Sisters stand the heat in this hot weather in your habits and veils?"

Well...Let me go back to my Freshman Year in High School, when I was very close to my English teacher, she wondered why the sisters in her school wore veils, and she thought that the sisters were bald, well one time one of the sisters took their veil off, and she exclaimed, "THEY have hair!!!"

Now, being the twenty-first century in English class a few minutes before the first bell rang, I was laughing "my head off" [A term used in teenage language, but really if I laughed my head off I wouldnt have a head, now wouldnt I? And you'd all think a Headless Future Sister would be posting something on the blog, I can only imagine, a sister wearing a habit and a veil, but what is the veil on? Oh, honestly...(whispers: People of the twenty-first century!)]

So today, I just got done talking with the Superior of the Novitiate [A title I MUCH PREFER then the "Mistress of Novices" or "Novice Mistress" (I think you should stick with that one Sister! I know I am, and yes......you KNOW who I am talking about. :) Hehe.]

And I asked her how she was doing, and she replied with the word "hot" and then I asked my question, and she went on about how the choir and community room is air conditioned, and that -I think- it was during lauds they have it on for a while, then another hour of the divine office they sweat, and then turn it back on. And then she said, so you just stick-

Top Secret File

I am sorry, terribly sorry, but I promised Sister that I wouldnt post it on my blog, and I am of my word. To find out the answer, ask one for yourself, or ask the question which is located at the very beginning of my post.
