The Shrine: A Not So Dominican Response?
For those of you who know and have stuck around The Shrine in its deep, random, spiritual two years of blogging history you know how I have gone absolutely "Dominicanly-Insane" from top to bottom, back ways, sideways, upways, down ways and any other ways you can think of - that the true word is insane in the most holy Dominican fashion, about two weeks ago I went to a convent, I stayed there with 7 other girls and a bunch of hilarious bring down the house nuns of the Franciscan Sisters of Saint Francis of the Martyr Saint George in Alton, Illinois - who not only tend to bring down the house on BIG Feast days or solemnities, but contagiously spread the Franciscan life ear to ear with a phenomenal smile, who wear the full habit and veil, who pray so tense and deeply to and for our Lord that you can feel a big electric bolt in connection with EVERY individual, even those non-religious participating in a retreat, I mean even the janitors are happy!!!! - who pray the Stations of the Cross daily - who have all around adoration in front of the most Blessed Sacrament, who have 8 to 9 different apostolates and drink heavy German coffee in the morning!
It is BREATH TAKING, I had a little argument with our Lord before I went to bed - "THERE IS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WAY I am Franciscan!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a DOMINICAN!!!!"
I was changed in shape, form, character, mind, and spiritual being that there is a big possibility that I am called to the FSGM's, and this isnt BECAUSE of the sisters, its because GOD did it...for a reason! He planted it there! SOMEONE DROPPED out at the last minute thats why I was able to go! Why did GOD WANT ME to go? We shall soooooooooooooooooon find out.......
God bless you all! I love ya!
