Yesterday I got to leave class five minutes early and I was walking to my bus when my old bus driver said are you still on that "career track"? I said, "yes" with a smile. A VOCATION isn't a job, its a VOCATION, this came from the Poor Clare Colettine Community, quote, "Religious life, married life and the single secular state are vocations. Shoemaking, bookmaking, matchmaking, teaching and professional boxing are jobs." That specifically states that a vocation to the religious life and priesthood is NOT a JOB. There are so many misunderstandings as to what a vocation is, and to even know what our vocation is. Please heed the following also from the same site, "Build your life on the rock of God's Word; read him, pray him, sing him, stand on him, eat him, adore him, wrap your heart around him and nothing will knock you down." These are just a few of the wondrous things we can do to prepare for our vocation, and prepare to what God has in store anyway for our life. He calls each and every one of us, us unworthy sinners, He loves us first then we love Him, His love is the reality, His love is that of a gentleman. He is the true lover. Its impossible to resist His love. Saint Therese clearly states this, "Jesus is calling me to the monastery, I cannot resist His love any longer."
Jesus is CALLING YOU no matter if it is in the religious life, priesthood, single life, or married life, or a "literal JOB" - embrace the call. Sister Mary Catharine of the Dominican Nuns of Our Lady of the Rosary Monastery pins the point ever so wonderful of embracing the one true call. "Nourish it by going to mass as often as you can, receiving the sacraments, and prayer."
Your love is calling you. Don't miss the opportunity.
