Dominic; Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia Congregation;
B-E-H-O-L-D the H-E-R-I-T-A-G-E
It is night, And there's one light burning
In the church It's silent, still and dark.
It is night, And there's one man still in
The church and he'll be there until dawn
It's Dominic, Father Dominic and his nightwatch
Of love, It's Dominic, Father Dominic and he'll
Be there until dawn.
It is morning and all are assembled for prayer
It's bright with the praise of the sun.
There is one man urging all of us on. "More bravely
My brothers sing my sons." Its Dominic, Father Dominic
Singing the praise of God, Its Dominic, Father Dominic
Singing God's praise at dawn.
It is midday all are walking along singing "Ave Maria my love"
He is speaking of God's Holy work to do, "have zeal for souls my sons."
Its Dominic, Father Dominic glory above, its Dominic, Father Dominic
Speaking of God alone. [Repeat verse I twice.]
Ave Maria; Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia Congregation;

Fructus ventris tui Jesus
Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora pro nobis
Pectoribus Nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae
Ora pro nobis, Amen. Ora pro nobis, Amen

Behold the Heritage (Consider the Rock); Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia Congregation;
B-E-H-O-L-D the H-E-R-I-T-A-G-E
Behold my children, the heritage I leave you.
Behold the heritage
Consider the rock from which you were hewn
The rock of Dominican heritage ancient and new
With humility, songrunning, deep and strong
The rock from which you were hewn
Consider the rock, Consider and think how it could give
Water For God's desert people to drink of his mercy
And tenderness, full of splendor this rock from which you
Were hewn
Peter not for your strength have I set you apart but your good
Will and your fervent heart
Consider the rock from which you were hewn, the rock of humilty
True as the shadowless moon, the one unsensational yet foundational
Rock, from which you were hewn
Show all your charity, guard your humility willingly take up poverty.
Consider the rock, the precious stone, the poverty, God let St. Dominic
Choose on his own, Not legitimate goods but to be His alone. He is the rock
From which you were hewn.
Consider the rock from which you were hewn
The rock of Dominican heritage, anicent and new
With humility, songrunning, deep and strong the rock
From which you were hewn, from which you were hewn
[Repeat)
